Medical Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphedema, Edema, Post-Op, and General Wellness
Service Description
Lymphatic drainage massage involves gently manipulating specific areas of your body to help lymph move to an area with working lymph vessels. It is NOT a traditional massage. MLD is specifically focused on the lymph vessels to help the flow of lymphatic fluid. This is a very gentle (extremely light touch) and slow process. Draining lymph fluid is a dynamic process and should be respected as one. Please be mindful and patient with your body if your lymph fluid is taking time to drain. A client can still leave with swelling after a session due to any given condition your body may be experiencing; again be patient with your body as it works towards homeostasis. Multiple visits are to be expected, especially with post-op surgeries or procedures. PRE-OP: 1 week before and again 2 days before procedure POST-OP: Start 3-7 days out (sooner is better with doctor approval). If an incision is leaking, please wait until incision is closed before booking appointment.
